[Fishing] So why not just stay in Org and fish?

I've been reading this guide, and was traveling here, there, wherever, but I'm curious- I've gotten skilled faster just sitting in Org fishing to 350. Why not just max out there?

If all you want is fishing skill, then fish anywhere fish don't get away. Orgrimmar is perfect after 75. You will still need to travel to learn certain ranks - notably Artisan and Grand Master, which cannot be learnt in Orgrimmar (or from pre-purchased books).

You could level your fishing up to 450 in Orgrimmar... But the question is, why do that?

Fishing can be a very boring and repetitve activity, or it can be an awesome way to explore and discover little-known areas of the game in search of rare fish. Levelling 375-450 has been a load of fun, especially as I combined this with Cooking, in the hopes of getting the Chef title. It got me fishing off the coast of Borean Tundra for Deep See Monsterbellies, for instance.

Fishing to 450 is just a goal. What matters, though, is the journey. :)

Plus, there is the value of the fish. Why pull up near-worthless fish from Org when you can rather quickly during the skill-up process make your way down to the Barrens and fish up some Deviate Fish? Or go for a rare catch included in One That Didn't Get Away or an item like the Broken Wine Bottle? Certainly once you can start fishing in Northrend you should as you should be making at least a gold per fish but even before then, knocking off some of the fishing achievements will make the skillup process just fly by.

But you are right, if you just want to level as quick as possible it is fastest to just to stay parked and fish in a starting city.
