I was also able to enter with a 2-man raid.
After the second elevator, I used a water walking potion and my Skyguards drape. I landed in the water instead of on top of it, but I quickly jumped before the fish found me.

    That happend to me, too!
Sadly I couldn't get out and the fish killed me. ;( Jumping was not working for whatever reason.

I'll try again tomorrow, hopefully it will work. ._.

Just so you know, the other person does not need to be 70 in order to get the raid to work. The other person I used in order to create the raid was only level 65. Unfortunately I broke up the raid before ressing and I was stuck inside the waterfall.

  3. Letarian <Angler>, 4 years ago:

Actually the person in your raid does not even have to be online. I usually get a random person to join the raid with me on my level 1 bank alt, then log over to my main and get promoted to leader. The other person can then leave.

I did both this and the ZG one this way. Note also that there is no stealth detecting mobs around the start of the instance - the bog lords don't detect stealth. I simply stealthed over to where a ramp went down to the water and used a water walking elixir to get across to the platform.

    Hey all.

I just solo'd this on my druid on Bronze Dragonflight. No tricks involved. I joined a raid group with a friend and stealthed past all the mobs until I reached a pipe to the right which got me close to an outer island. Jumped in with a stack of Hots running, got attacked by the fishies, potted, and jumped ontothe island. Healed up then jumped over onto the centre island. Fished him up and hit shadowmeld then HS'd.

A water walking pot would have saved me some worry as I`m boomkin (level 80) at the moment and it would have been much easier if I had had been resto or even feral for the armor etc. I was a little close with my health as the fishies do have a nasty bite but was a fun trip.

I did this with my mage and a warlock friend. I had no difficulties but for him the parachute cloak never seemed to work. In the end he took an invisibility potion before jumping off the ledge then jumped out of the water and used a water walking potion. Worked like a charm.

That was painful. Never did SSC so when I saw a big pit I thought it was like one of the WOTLK instances we recently did and jumped... eheh. Had only caught the whole "jump into the water make sure you don't take fall damage" <_< Died again to fish at the right place as I didn't know they saw stealth... Eventually decided to skip jumping in water and just stealth past things, though armor was off this time, got to pipe, jumped in, franticlyescaped fish.
Fish, get acheivement. Though, I shadowmelded right after (before he appeared) as I intended to HS out but instead he saw through it and white hit me unstealthing me and killed me. Not sure if I was unlucky or if it was changed, I wasn't standing particularly close.

Soo lessons, don't jump down shafts, it might be an elevator... This brings back memories of a similar mistake with Half Life <_<
Don't bother with the water walking if you can stealth and are 80. :P

I found much easy way, only thing you need is lesser invisibility potion and walking on water potion. As you get to cliff just pop invisibility potion and jump in water. As soon you are in water use walking on water potion and jump out.

This invisibility potion gets you into other dimension where you cant see any mobs so its safe. It lasts 15 seconds so its more than enough.

After failing twice with the cloak and once with the parachute, I just threw on my tanking gear and brute forced swam my way to the ramps. Easy.

  9. Arrowsflight <Angler>, 4 years ago:

Did this tonight w/ Pally tank and priest along with myself resto druid. Priest water walked, and pally took the jump first to aggro fish and then I would travel form speed from pipe to pipe in that same pattern and we made it. Brute swim would NOT have worked.

"Did this last week with a guildie Shaman who also needed the achievement.
Took 3 noggenfoggers to get slow fall, drank the waterwalking potion, jumped, hit the Skyguard cape, landed safely. (We jumped from the far left corner after the second elevator.)
Stayed in the middle of water, walked to Lurker.
I went first and caught Lurker, got the achievement and we both died. The shaman rezzed and then rezzed me (I didn't accept the rez) and then he fished up Lurker for the achievement.
    :)"

Sounds like it is possible to fish Lurker twice in one go (raid) with different people. It only does not have to get killed. Will he despawn after a while or after the party has died or has run away ? Can you confirm one of the above ?

    cheers

Tried this today, tried everything but dying to get in. Had four other guildies in party, converted to raid, changed difficulties, reset instance, tried individually, did everything we could think of to get in. This is since most recent patch 3.1.3.9947. Has anyone else had any problems?
    All level 80s in party.
Update-tried again next day and walked right in with two of us in raid, followed above and got it right off so I assume this was a patch problem and was corrected post haste.

Soloed this a few days ago. Being a druid, I can tell you that feline grace did NOTHING to help.

I had my boyfriend stand outside of the waterfall on his lowbie priest alt. He cast Levitate on me, then I ran immediately inside and fell without problem with about 30 seconds to spare (damn those elevators!) so I would recommend the same! Also he was in my raid and he's only lvl 55 so you don't need lvl 70+ people to make a raid.

Caught in about 5 casts. Very scary, I didn't expect it to jump out so.

I know the techniques for soloing are pretty clear at this point, but wanted to add one very important observation from my experience -- you don't have to die!!! :-)

I gained the achievement a few days ago with my druid (used a Skyguard cape and an elixir of water walking to get to the strange pool). The moment I got the achievement, I activated my hearthstone, and was able to hearth away before being attacked.

I'd like to follow up on Thalaris' note.

I just did this as a hunter and Feign Death works perfectly fine too - in fact it made him despawn :p So no need to kamikaze if u're hunter either.

  15. Kiingy <Salty>, 3 years ago:

    This is easy to solo.
I did this at level 70. Just got a friend to sit in a raid group with me.
Used Noggenfoggers for slowfall and water walking elixirs once I hit the water.

  16. Trokair <Salty>, 3 years ago:

I did this one this morning. Easy as a mage. Water walking elixir and slow-fall, as mentioned.

From previous experiences I know of the bug with the water walking elixir... you just have to be careful not to push forward or "dive" while walking on the water, or you'll push yourself under the surface and those fish will get ya!

Did it in one try.. took five minutes. As soon as that expansion arrives next week... I'll be Salty in no time!

One comment for Mages, _do_not_ blink while water walking. Debuffs WW right away and even freezing the first batch of fish I still became chum seconds after hitting the water. Really, this is only a p.i.t.a. because of the long-ass grave run; second try worked fine.
I actually tried to fight him; I thought, what the hell, it's only a lvl 70 raid and this is some off, b-list boss right? I'm a goddangled Lvl 85 Fire mage. I do Zul' Heroics, I'll just flush this turd right back down the sewer.
I never ran those lvl70 raids. I only know from 5-mans. When his meter came up with 23 million hp I fought for like 2 rotations and then properly counted the zeros. OK; invisibility.
Once you leave combat he goes away and you could actually fish him up again if your bread is buttered that way.
