Shortly after the expansion came out, I decided to go level up my fishing in the Dalaran fountain. I wasn't too concerned with earning the title Salty, but I figured it'd be fun to at least get all the coins.
I ended up being stuck on two copper coins for nearly a week.
Finally, one evening, i head back to the fountain and toss my line in a few times. Boom. Boom. Lando Longshot & Attumen's copper coins both show up in less than 5 casts.
Man, that felt good. Sigh... let's see... I have absolutely nothing else to do...eh...why not?
I had quit the game for a few months and returned 3 days before the expac hit. Everything I'd accomplished as a master angler had amounted to nothing, save for my winning the STV tourney. Since I had nothing better to do, I decided to see what else I could accomplish with a free night.
I head down into the sewers. Apply a lure, toss. toss. toss. 10 minutes go by. Just as the timer on the lure runs out, my bobber bounces, I pull in my catch, what do you know, I just landed myself a new pet and another fishing achievement!
Man, this is great... Oh well, may as well head out to Outland, do the daily and fish up those other pools I'm missing. Might as well start working on Mr. Pinchy. For all the fishing I'd done in BC, Mr. Pinchy always eluded me. I just could not catch him.
Sure enough, within 5 casts in Skettis I pull up my BoP. OH MY GOD!!!!!
Ok, great, but things are never this simple. Luck's been too good. I'll get 3 crappy wishes and spend another 6 months waiting for another drop. Oh well, here goes....

This is just ridiculous. Who has this kind of luck? I hearth back to Dalaran and decide to finish off my list of unfished pools. Crystal Forest, check. Sholazar? check. Deep Sea, check. One more to go: Herring. I head to Howling Fjord and decide to stick it out a bit. I fished the pool, may as well press my luck, see if I could get the Dark Herring.
75 casts later, and the Landlord's very own Dark Herring comes up from a pool right off the dock at Valgarde.
Mr. Pinchy, Giant Sewer Rat, Fountain achievements, and the Dark Herring all within 6 hours. How is that even possible?!? Outland/Northrend/junk nodes all completed.
Of course, things came back to bite me in the backside. Went to bed, woke up and decided to re-catch old Ironjaw. I caught him waaaay back when I had been leveling fishing on this character. After over 2000 casts in Ironforge, he still eludes me. I was fishing alongside a friend working on the same achievement and said "That's it, I'm pulling out my good luck charm". I summon Mr Pinchy and sure enough, on the very next cast, my friend lands Old Ironjaw.
I gave up lol.
My character is going to head to Orgrimmar to attempt catching Old Crafty. I'll likely wait until the Crocs in the City quest comes up because I just don't think I have the patience to hide behind a hut for 2000+ casts.
Anyway, sorry for such a long story, there's no one in my guild who could possibly appreciate what I managed to accomplish in one evening.
