CMON EL!! we know you can get these implemented

  2. will <Angler>, 10 months ago:

Wow, you put a whole lot of thought into this! I have no idea if they would be implemented but awesome ideas all around.

  3. samboda <Salty>, 10 months ago:

Very cool ideas indeed. But u missed a few things.....

A new NPC in Dalaran or somewhere else (<insert exotic fishing location>) named "El", selling some sort of fishing equipment . Maybe common quality fisherman outfit without fishing bonus, which could be upgraded with professions to give +fishing.

Enchanting (XXX): Formula: Enchant Gloves - Advanced Fishing
    Reagents: ???
    Benefit: +5 fishing skill.

Weekly quest: Around the world fishing.
Description: Fishing in several zones(azeroth, outlands) for quest fishes with the possibility to join them in one slot. Like dalaran cooking daily where u join a few things in one basket.

  4. Isa <Salty>, 10 months ago:

Agree Sambody. After all Breanni got a character in Wrath!

Great thought, but you missed a part. The "El" NPC should give a fishing daily. I don't know about you, but unless I have my daily dose of "El" then my day is not complete!

  6. Talathan <Angler>, 10 months ago:

Here's what I'd like to see: Lures that LURE. An example to demonstrate what I mean.

Bob has a fishing skill of 225, and is fishing without a lure in a location that has a casting requirement of 130. He's guaranteed no lost fish from his casts. He finds that he can average a catch every 20 seconds.

Bill is fishing right next to him. His skill is 175, so he's using a +50 lure. His effective fishing skill is also 225, but his lure is acting as a fish magnet - so he can reel one in every 15 seconds.

Barney's also fishing there. His skill is only 125. He's using a +100 lure. He's reeling them in every 10 seconds!

    ========

But wait, there's more I'd like to see:

Here comes "Super Dave." He sits down beside the three of them. His skill is maxxed out at 450. Fish hit his hook the moment it touches the water.

    ========

    And still MORE:

How about lures that are designed to attract specific fish - just like they do in real life. Want twice as many Glacial Salmon? Use a lure that attracts them.

  7. Els Pagle <Angler>, 10 months ago:

I'd love to see several of these, including the species-specific lures (not necessarily for all species of course)!

Suggest also: Tackle Vest/Fishing Vest -- I fear game mechanics may not allow a clothing item to serve as a container, but I've long felt that a fishing vest (or a hat, for fly-fishing!) should allow the storage of additional lures that are not in other inventory space.

Fishing Creel -- A large-capacity bag that holds only fish.

Samboda's "Around the World Fishing" could use the same icon as Fishing Creel for El's Loaner Creel (or whatever it gets called).

Dethwolf's "El's Fancy Fish Food" -- ruled unsporting by Extravaganza officials, will not work on Tastyfish. (Perhaps it should also be barred from Highland Mixed School areas.)

If El the NPC sold utterly useless items of stylish fishing clothes ("pauldrons" that look like suspenders, anyone?) with no plusses, I would still buy them to replace gear that does not already bear a fishing bonus like my overalls, shirt, gloves, bracers...

  8. Talathan <Angler>, 10 months ago:

Yes, I agree - there ought to be a lure only container. How many times have we seen anglers IRL attach lures to their hat? It'd be nice if either the Lucky Fishing Hat or the Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat had this ability (if they don't already - I have neither, so I don't know)

And a 28 slot Fishing Bag would be great! I'm already geared with all Frostweave bags (including bank slots), so a "mere" 24 slot bag wouldn't really be worth the upgrade, considering the content limitation.

Edit: Oops, I see now that the Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat is, itself, a lure. But it's only a +75. It'd be nice to stick some +100's on it.

  9. teflamreilavehc <Angler>, 10 months ago:

Things I think we could reasonably expect and would be very cool are the +5 glove enchant, and a fishing bag (I'd vote for a Saronite Tacklebox, 32 slots, holds lures, poles, and fish). They don't ask for any mechanics changes at all and would be fairly easy to implement, I'd think.

I'd like to see a good reason to be 450 fishing. So I can fish in the Frozen Sea? The fish there are probably the least valuable fish out of any zone. I'd like to see some water fishing implemented like we had in Azshara and Elemental Plateau, and maybe some best in slot stat food fish like in Terrokar Highlands. Sure Fish Feast requires fish, but you can catch all those fish with 375 + a lure. Fishing in the highlands required a top notch, well geared angler with the best lures!

I'd also like it to hold other specific fish-related items, like the achievement coin that gets mailed to you when you complete Coin Master, as well as Rockhide Strongfish and the like (weapons technically, but acquired through fishing).

I prefer fishing "au naturale" (ie, sans lure) in Grizzly Hills. That bag space used for the lure could be holding another stack of fish! It's also one reason (a minor one, but it is one) that I prefer a 2H weapon. Switching to the fishing pole from melee weapon doesn't take up an extra bag slot.

While a total skill of 470 doesn't ensure that I'll never have a fish get away, it happens very rarely. Even rarer now that I've gotten the +3 line from the fishing daily.

  12. heathisrael <Angler>, 9 months ago:

personally, i'd like to see the tourney trinket buffed.

+25% speed increase these days isn't much..especially for locks as our unending breath is +20% anyway. it kind of moots the trinket. think about it...me turning into a fish is only 25% faster than my doggie paddle? nonsense.

this should work like the hat...give you a lure on use.
