    Well trust me, I hear this A LOT and I always say the same thing. The fishing tournament we can all agree is the highlight to any true fisherman's week. That being said I never miss it; and if I'm there, I'm there to win either for myself or someone in my fishing guild.

    I won my first Extravaganza this weekend on Earthen Ring. It would be nice to have the Master Angler title available as an additional reward for winning. I would, of course, prefer that a single win, which is all most contestants are likely to get, would confer the title. I feel that the chances of that being implemented are pretty slim, though.

    8 wins, Marlburo? Do you not recognize how selfish and rude that is? Hang it up and find something else to do on Sunday afternoon. Your rationale is like a sieve...it doesn't hold water.

    I got my second Extravaganza win last weekend, exactly one month after my first. Since I now have at least one of everything you can get from the contest, I have permanently retired from the contest. Good luck to you all!

    ^^^^You need to scroll down a bit but theirs one there for Master Angler of Stranglethorn

    Not too sure if you gonna get a title from this but they said its possible to get titles from the achievements.

    Your not going to have to re-win the event these achievements are retroactive (some things like the old PvP titles aren't available anymore but theirs achievements for those) so you'll be able to show it off that way

    I discovered today that, as currently implemented, Master Angler of Stranglethorn is not retrospective, even if you still have the pole. Only Mr. Pinchy's Magical Crawdad Box and the rank achievement are awarded retrospectively.

    I find it interesting that they are allowing the Magical Crawdad Box to be retroactive but not the Extravaganza, because all a player really needs is 1 of the 2 reward items in their inventory to prove that they completed that. I don't see how you can be retroactive on 1 but not the other. :(

    Sadly I think it will be even more unlikely to win the event in Wotlk due to the increased competition to get this achievement, now that it's being installed.

    As per the other post here in the forums the achievement does now check your inventory for the pole or trinket, and does function. I haven't logged on Petre to find out if it is actually working in-game or not.

    I am completely pupmed to get this title when the expansion hits. Reading that it is going to be a retroactive thing now based on items you possess, I still have one question that seems to not have been answered. Or I just might have missed it...

    Do you need to have both the pole and trinket to gain the title? Or is it just for winning the tourney once?

    I already have the pole, I plan on attending every tourney on Mal'Ganis until I have my second victory so I can retire (like all considerate anglers should).

    Here's a few recent topics from the EU forums:

    I encourage people to bump them whenever you see them. I would definately like to see this title ingame. I think it should require more than just beating hte competition though. Such as maxing fishing skill. Makes no sense seeing a level 35 with 75 or 150 fishing running around with the title.
