[Fishing] Turtle, in how many catches did you (not) get it?

    Boy you guys are lucky no competition for pools! Last night I had to contend with 4 people over the pools.
    only reason im not despondant is I'm selling all my monsterbelly like hotcakes. I have to cook the cuttlefish to sell those though. Good thing I have a ton of northern spice.

    Hmm is it me or are most of the people who posted getting turtle alliance?.... I have yet to see another horde fishing for it too. Hmmmm =)

    Just caught it on the live server (EU Hellscream). i was just working on getting my chef title. I had just charmed some penguins with critter bites and was waiting in battleground queues to lay out my Great feasts. i was just off the Borean south coast, had cleared a monster belly pool, and was too lazy to move to the next one, so was just fishing the open sea when i caught it!
    All in all - about 10 casts doing Dalaran quest past 2 days, and about a dozen casts or so in the sea! amazing luck for me - usually takes me months to get anything - please don't even mention Chocolate cake!

    Congrats to everyone.

    Its really a fun mount, even if it is completely useless to me as a druid. I wont ride around on anything else anymore.

    I would love though if we were able to fish from it.

    Caught mine yesterday after 18 Dragonfin Angelfish catches in the river separating Dragonblight and Grizzly Hills. Wearing Arcanite Fishing Pole with +3 line, Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat with hat-lure applied, and Nat Pagle's Extreme Anglin' Boots (578 skill in total). Lucky week as this morning my fishing bag from the new daily contained a strand crawler and poison vial.

    Armory is updated to show achievement for validity.

    I like the look as I also have the TCG turtle (which does not swim faster in water as I'm sure everyone who has it has found out heh) and she is fun to run around on underwater ^_^

    5 hours spent fishing in frozen sea and gotten nothing, i do 3 pools in basin and I get the mount... Might be a higher dropchance there?

    I am cursed with ridiculous luck when it comes to WoW so far. only 72 and i have many angry guildmates for this and the titanium seal :D

    Hi, just wondering to all who had caught it. Do you guys use any item like Onysablet to have 578 fishing skills in total?

    Are there any min skills in order to catch it?

    I just fished from a school in sholazar, 480 skill (kalu'ak rod) but I wasn't really trying for it at that point, i had done a couple hours of farming beforehand

    1300 catches, the majority of which were coastal from moaki harbor down around howling fjord and up to grizzly hills. have also fished howling fjord lakes (finally got my dark herring for salty) and have recently moved into frozen sea so i can make some money back to afford ulduar repairs. Tonight after raids i'll prolly get a couple hundred more catches in.

    Fished up 200 salmon in grizzly hills, fished up a few manta rays on the way to Borean Tundra, then fished up 57 mussleback sculpin, and caught the turtle mount. 4/16/09

    Woot just got my turtle, about 650-700 catches. On the plus side I have enough raiding food to last a good 3-4 months!!!!

    about 3k casts into trying for it (and double dipping a dark herring)... I have great luck if it isn't a pet or mount.

    I'm at about 850 casts, with no turtle. Did 350ish south of Borean Tundra, and about 500 in Grizzly Hills. It kind of annoys me, the number of people who are out doing this. I did all of the fishing stuff I could, and do the fishing daily (now dailies) every day, and got my salty title, and now it seems half the server is suddenly fishing, now that there's a mount involved >.>
