[Fishing] Turtle, in how many catches did you (not) get it?

    started 2 days ago been at it soild after a bet between me and a few friends to see who could get it first been about 2600 fish and 5600fish and other things started with a fishing skill of 180 did the coin achievement in about 6 hours and since been fishing for the mount but no lucky so far 3 friends have also put in 18 hour days like me with no luck so... when the server comes back up the grind will be back on.

    btw people that have got alot of oils get them made into the 20stat pots they sell good just made 2.1k gold off the 900 i had

    Took me about 3000 catches. Dunno if i'm happy or sad, so much time wasted :).
    Shouldn't complain tho since some people have done 6000 catches with no luck :/.

    yet again been fishing all day and nothing yet 3500 fish and no mount.... fishing all day and most of the night with not much sleep is taking its toll :-(

    Edit: 4500 fish and still no mount but me and a friend have teamed up, fishing the mats for fish feast and on my server they sell for 300g a stack and so far we have 4guild bank tabs full of mats for them worked out to be about 20k's worth

    update: 7000+ and still no turtle
    update: 8500+ fish caught - no turtle yet:( but I have my bank char full of pygmy suckerfish and thousands of other fishes on AH.
    update: ~9500 - GOT IT from Fangtooth Herring school! YAY, Im so happy!!!

    been focusing on things other than fishing, so my fishing time is basically only when I'm waiting for a raid to fill up.

    Got mine last night from Angelfish Pool along The Dragonspine Tributary in Dragonblight.
    Catches unknown as i've been fishing extensively since 3.1.

    Only need to complete all fishing achievments.

    Been fishing for apparantly 9 hours in The Frozen Sea over a couple of days, no luck yet caught about 2000 things, fishing is at 366 leveld it frrom 125 fishing the pools in The Frozen Sea so lots of junk not including suckerfish probably only 600. But i am only level 10 and am still enjoying my self so i'm going to keep trying.

    Keep in mind you have to be fishing in Pools, not just in northrend.

    There are some limited pools in Northrend, but it's difficult to find them relatively close together, unless you find a spot with an almost constant respawn.

    I caught my Sea Turtle on the Chillmere Coast of Howling Fjord, on my fourth day of attempts. Here's my data:

    40 Borean Man O' War
    20 Deepsea Monsterbelly
    80 Dragonfin Angelfish
    40 Fangtooth Herring
    160 Glacial Salmon
    40 Glassfin Minnow
    42 Imperial Manta Ray
    20 Moonglow Cuttlefish
    120 Musselback Sculpin
    120 Nettlefish
    39 Crystallized Water
    24 Reinforced Crates

    745 successful casts

    I also caught 488 Pygmy Suckerfish, 18 junk items, and 1 sea turtle :) Most of my fish numbers are so even because I stopped when I got full stacks.

    I find Winter's Breath Lake, in Howling Fjord, good for pools. If you're alone on the lake and doing laps, by the time you get back to where you started the pools are respawning. I can't remember how many pools there are there but I spend more time fishing than travelling.

    At around 2-3k-ish fishes and still no turtle. Guessing the RNG isn't nice at all.

    Edit: 4132 fishes. 10:27 am PST I finally caught her. Now I will never use any land mounts but my turtle. Have perseverance people it'll eventually pay off. XD

    I am well over 7,000 and still nothing. Seeing as I can't roll over an 8 for BIS items this is no shock to me.

    Just passed the 10k catches milestone, still nothing. I thought the 7.2k for the one that didn't get away was painful, but at least for that one you didn't have to move :P

    I CAUGHT IT!!!! Everyone!!! YAY!!!!!! i've been fishing for over a week straight...not doing anything else! Confirmed: A lvl 16 can catch the sea turtle! :)

    stats:

    fish caught: 5234
    Fish and other stuff: 10797
    Fishing skill was at 567

    now to lvl enough to ride it :)
