    WotLK hidden features? :D
Hopefully a more space efficiant way to manage a zoo!

    Now, Bring fishing bags

  2. Personally, I'd love it if you could have a "leash," which would function similar to a keyring. I'd settle for a vanity pet bag, though. I've already gotten over 20 of the silly pets on my main character.

This first appeared in data-mined files when patch 2.4 was on the PTRs, at the start of this year. However, it hasn't been seen in-game yet, leading to speculation that it is a Wrath feature.

Breanni has over 90 different minipets listed, most of which are bound to their owners. So serious pet collectors have a problem with bag space, even if they leave most pets in the bank.

I'm surprised Blizzard are considering a bag, and not something like a hunter stables (or a leash). Putting small pets in bags always seemed rather cruel...

On a related note (I don't know if this bug is fixed yet or not, this is from 2.3), here's a way to get ALL your pets out at once:

  5. I'm sure that'd be considered some sort of exploit, but man is that awesome. I wish they'd let you have multiple minipets out at the same time.

That was fixed some time ago. Each additional pet creates more lag - more objects in the game world. And Shattrath does not need more lag...

  7. This just in from the EU forums!

We’re pleased to announce a convenient upgrade to the way that mounts and vanity pets are handled in Wrath of the Lich King.

Players will be able to “learn” a mount or non-combat pet much like learning a spell, recipe, or new ability, and these creatures will then show up on a new Pet tab within the Character Info section of the interface. Players will be able to access and preview their learned mounts and vanity pets through this tab.

Once learned, the pet icon or mount icon will no longer appear in bag spaces or bank spaces. This inventory space will be made available once again for other adventuring needs. Pets can still be set to hotkeys by dragging them to the hotkey bar, much like any other spell or ability.

I'm so excited. You have no idea.

    Actually, I think I do :)

  9. According to the blue post that was posted, I think having the vanity pets "learned" like a spell is a great idea. It will save me loads of bag space! Also the vanity pet tab will make it so much easier to bring pets out - a nice menu at your fingertips!

Do any of you think this change will have an effect on pets, or their pricing?

Maybe people will be more apt to collect pets now that it's more practical and feasible. I see prices of the pets possibly going up. I know a lot of people say they don't collect them because of lack of bag space, but with this change maybe the demand for cute pets will increase.

You're probably right; prices for cute pets will quite likely rise. You may want to pass that tip on to the WoW Economist!

They've actually implemented this in the beta. I didn't notice that it was going in, but the first time I tried to mount, nothing happened that I noticed (though I'm sure there was probably a message) and my mount button grayed out...scared the heck out of me! After asking around, I found the 'pet' window and dragged the icon there onto my bar, and everything was fine.

I ran back to the bank and started 'learning' all my pets and mounts. There are still a few that don't go in, but I'm sure that will be changed.

So yeah, my bank is much cleaner and emptier now in the beta :-)
