[Contests] Why are people just pigs....??

As a side note, there is no such thing as a twink reward. Blizzard has stated neutrality on the idea of twinking, meaning that they don't condemn it, but they will also do nothing to foster or encourage it. Nothing in the fishing contest was made for you. Those items were made for fishing. Since you can't defend what you have arbitrarily claimed as your own, I guess they're not yours, are they?

I don't have a twink (not even a blinged out banker :D) but here's how I would reply to your last statement:

I caught it, it's mine. Why I want it is none of your business. The only thing arbitrary about the whole thing is who the game decided to award it to.

I can relate to the horde ur talking about, if ur on a pvp server then expect to be ganked. Personally I hate twinks, I used to take my lvl 18's to WSG and get them a piece of gear before twinks completely consumed battlegrounds, so every twink I see i give em a quick flame shock and see them running around before they die, I'd rather get the fishing gear myself than have another twink geared for WSG

"Twinking" is simply a strategy, no less valid than any other. On a PvP server it's almost a survival necessity, particularly when there's a high Horde/Alliance imbalance. I got into STV because I enjoy fishing, and the hat/boots would be a nice bonus item. I spend an hour or two a night fishing - usually in Dal - because I find it relaxing and I like the lore attached to each coin I fish up. Assuming I'm a pure WSG twink/not a "real" fisherman/have no "right" to certain gear because I'm a low level & geared isn't going to stop me from fishing STV.

On the other hand, I accept a certain amount of ganking in the contest. As strategies go I think it's lame, and I was *highly* amused recently listening to [TRADE] when someone who had recruited their guild to kill/grief other players found themselves being camped/killed in BB until someone else turned in the fish and won.

Also, after the contest is finished, repeatedly ganking/camping my corpse is good way to find yourself on my higher level friends/alts to-do list. Just sayin'

And your higher level friends/alts would then be on my to-do list...but I'd never make the connection that it was because I killed a twink during STV a few times.

Does anyone else find this thread just plain hilarious? The OP states how much Horde sucks for ganking him... but, if you are Horde on a pvp sever, the exact same thing happens. Really now, ask me how I know ;) Such is PVP!! That's why I switched to PVE.. that way I can choose when i want to PVP, but I can lvl in peace or do marathon fishing sessions without worrying about being ganked and camped.
