[Fishing] yojamba and the extravaganza

    i just tried to start at the yojamba island, no tastyfish there :( i've lost the extravaganza for just 3 fish, if only i started anywhere else.......

    On my server the tournament hasn't started yet, but I'll have to be careful, i only lost by 3 tastyfish last time.

    Last week, I lost by three steps, I have also lost by one fish.

    But that's ok, next week is the week I win it.

    Yojamba is also heavily fished by twinks during the contest, as it's the only safe place a level 19 can fish without help, and the +15 stamina hat and +12 stamina boots (which can take ANY boot enchant) are very sought after.

    I've run the Extravaganza probably 20 times over the past 25 weeks: I tried my luck at the island twice before I gave up. (Full disclosure: I am a most-impressive 0 for 20, though I've gotten nearly all the rare fish gear twice already. Disenchanting those boots makes me sad.)

    There are definitely Tastyfish pools there, but the competition for them from all the twinks, as well as the random players who simply are so low level as to have no business setting foot in STV but think they've found a loophole, is so stiff there's virtually no chance of obtaining 40 fish out of that one place. Find greener pastures.

    Honestly, the number of pool spawns in that one location is probably insufficient to obtain 40 Tastyfish even if you were all alone on the islets, barring something stupid happening on your server, like several PvP guilds just going bonkers and killing anything that walks or crawls on any coastline in the Vale. On a normal server: little chance.

    Oh, I don't know about that. I've won the contest fishing Yojamba. Four times.
